Robert Redford's Great Gatsby car sells for $238,000

A piece of history was auctioned off this week when the 1928 Rolls Royce Phantom 1 Ascot Tourer driven by Robert Redford in the 1974 movie of "The Great Gatsby" sold to a collector.
Symbolizing the roaring 1920s and Gatsby’s wealth and terrible obsession with materials objects, the car becomes a pivotal character in the film when Myrtle is struck and killed by Gatsby's car.
Reprotedly, Robert Redford was so overwhelmed by women following him whenever he drove the car that he sold it after a few months. A collector, the late Ted Leonard, who owned a car dealership in Seekonk, Mass., bought the car from Redford and kept it as a showpiece.

A life-sized cardboard cutout of the Britain's Got Talent superstar was circulated around Glasgow, Scotland where hundreds of proud Scots posed with and carried around the replica of Boyle, celebrating the 48-year-old's worldwide success.

Makeup artists have been using airbrushes to apply foundation for decades, and now it’s possible to get a similar look at home without tons of high-tech, weighty equipment. I swear, this company should hire William Shatner:”Name your own price for Gas, wimp!” This is how the new name-your-own-price-for-gas service works:
• Consumers can sign up with Petrofix for limited periods, such as three months at a time, to cap their gas prices.
• Drivers that use Petrofix can go to any gas station they want and put in any grade of gasoline at the set rate they signed up for.

You’ve been there – you’re running late and forgot to write a note excusing little Mackenzie from school early for a dentist appointment.
Last week I used a post-it, wondering if that was “formal” enough for school. Who knows what the school office thought.
