Chicks Dig Terrence Howard

Actor /animal lover Terrence Howard held up traffic to save a baby bird from getting run over in traffic this weekend.
The Iron Man star jumped out in the middle of the road in Beverly Hills, waving his hands for motorists to stop until a little hatching got across the road to re-join his mother.
Bet that chick thinks he’s a super star.

FIRST CLASS FOR PETS

Did you hear about the dog on a New Zealand flight that was so pissed that his owners had placed him in the luggage section that he escaped from his cage and chewed through the wiring?
Fortunately, it was the auxiliary engine so the plane landed safely but bet the owners had known about “Pet Airways,” the world’s first pets only airline.
Dogs and cats (no exotic pets yet) travel first class so they don’t have to be sedated or left alone in the cargo area. When you consider the statistics for how many pets are injured during traveling -- a San Francisco Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals suggests about two million pets ride in plane cargo areas each year and about 5000 of them are injured during the trip – you can see why patrons are flocking to this service.

Awww! Is there anything cuter than a man and his bunny? Good Charlottle’s Joel Madden cuddles his wittle rabbit before taking it home to girlfriend / Mom Nicole Richie.

Adorable Kangaroo Rosie Goes Under The Knife

A 5-year-old kangaroo named Rosie underwent oral surgery to correct a hole that was internally located between her nose and mouth.
Rosie, who calls Healesville Sanctuary, an Australian zoo, home, had been suffering from the problem for more than six months, zoo officials said. The procedure that was performed May 26, called bucchal flap advancement, was administered by Dr. Steve Hooker, an oral surgeon who usually works on humans. Zoo officials said the malady had developed after a tooth root abscess. Zoo staff had previously tried, to mixed results, to cure the condition before the good doctor was sent in to ease Rosie's suffering.
Wuff! - Bowlingual dog translator device

Ever wonder why your dog barks for no apparent reason, thinks the UPS guy is an ax murderer, and howls when you leave?
Thanks to a Japanese toy maker, you can now now use his "Bowlingual" gadget to translate dog barks into human language. Frankly, I don't need this device; I know what my dogs are saying most of the time: "Feed ME!" "PLEASE take me for a walk!" "Squirrels are attacking the house!"

The latest YouTube viral video is leaving viewers unsure whether to call PETA or grab a mallet.
The comedic sketch, called "Whack A Kitty," depicts a man (mockingly) hitting a pop-up kitty with a mallet. It is a take-off of the Whack-A-Mole games present at many Chuck E Cheese establishments. It has received upwards of 750,000 views in just three weeks.

Doggie Treadmill?

When you buy a dog you're supposed to walk it, not buy it a pedometer or a treadmill!
I used to have a boyfriend who would take my doxie, Sam, for a ride in his car, feeling that would suffice. Needless to say, not a dog person. I don't care how small your apartment is, that you don't have a backyard, that you don't have a doggie door...get out that leash and do some laps. Oh, yeah, and take a doggie bag.
What's next ...doggie gyms?
Bark Smart

I think my pups are laughing at me. Smart Home sent me their new Bark Smart to try out, which works by sending out an ultrasonic signal that only dogs can hear when activated by the barking. Supposedly, dogs learn that their barking causes this irritating sound and stop barking to stop the noise. A deluxe version of the Bark Smart is also available. This upgraded device has twin speakers with a wider range as well as a timer control option that lets you set the time when the Bark Smart Deluxe is active each day. Uh-huh.
If you're gulible, choose from two modes: audible and ultrasonic. Both modes signal your dog ultrasonically, but the audible mode also emits a tone that you can hear, which will drive you totally crazy while your daschunds enjoy a chuckle. An LED also shows when the Bark Smart is active.
I cranked this baby up to "High" microphone sensitivity. Henry tested it by barking at a squirrel, who was trying to break into our house, according to my doxie. The LED light flashed, indicating the unit was working. Maggie yawned. Then she ate it.
