Tossing "safe" fashions to the curb, members of young Hollywood's elite set had the opportunity to step out in edgy and risk-taking numbers for Sunday night's 2009 Young Hollywood Awards.
Bar Refaeli went bold in the color department, in addition to her orange-like tan, the Israeli supermodel did it up in a hot pink mini and bright purple pumps. Known for her fashion wrongs, Rumer Willis was surprisingly chic in a rebellious strapless monochromatic print mini dress while Evan Rachel Wood took the style flop award, stinking up the joint in a garishly-overdone belted, mirrored, embellished, and feathered Gucci mini!
The most famous teen in Tinseltown, Miley Cyrus, hit up the A Time For Heroes Celebrity Carnivale event in a belted silver mini with fringe sleeves, crazy-high scrunch boots, and layered chained necklaces for an all-out rocker ensemble!
In Tokyo, style siren Megan Fox stunned the Far East in a thigh-high slit purple satin number for the Transformers 2 premiere.
Opting for a more classic yet dramatic appeal, Anne Hathaway attended the Tony Awards in New York, donning a breathtaking strapless Oscar de la Renta dress with a feather-print sheer skirt. In Los Angeles, America's favorite blonde, Cameron Diaz, shined head-to-toe in Stella McCartney, while showing off her fashion model side in a bold-shouldered structural hip dress with black and white embroidery.

It’s a HUGE night on MTV, and not just because we say farewell to Lauren Conrad, hello to Kristin Cavallari and ‘don’t do it!’ to Heidi Montag on the season finale of The Hills!
The real reason for all the excitement is actually because it’s time for the much anticipated... MTV Movie Awards! Yay! Ever the modern girl, actress and hottie Cameron Diaz was spotted lounging in Hawaii on Sunday, reading from an Amazon Kindle.
While the E-Book device may be the hottest new tech toy on the market, it pales in comparison to Diaz's electric yellow bikini.
Her Memorial Day rest will be followed with promotion of her next flick, Nick Cassavetes' My Sister's Keeper, then alongside James Marsden in the sci-fi thriller The Box.

Actress/ environmentalist Cameron Diaz said she is "rigged" to do things the earth-friendly way.
Diaz, appearing on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, said she was "very MacGyver-esque" in her ability to recycle household items for various uses.
The interview took a bizarre turn when Leno asked the Something About Mary star how her environmental way affect her toilet habits.
"If it's yellow, leave it mellow, if it's brown, flush it down," Diaz said.

With her new movie My Sister’s Keeper set to hit theatres this spring, Cameron Diaz is gracing this month’s cover of Vogue and opening up about her father’s sudden passing, aging gracefully, and the latest love of her life.
Diaz has been dating model Paul Sculfor (and Jennifer Aniston ex) but it’s not the British hottie which has her currently gushing. "I was just really thinking, I can't be away from New York. I'm having a major love affair with it right now," she said about her recent purchase in Manhattan. The actress decided to split her time between L.A. and the Big Apple after shooting What Happens in Vegas Stays in Vegas there.
As for her status as a sex symbol, the beautiful blonde has had enough. "If you are a woman who's been labeled as a sex symbol, for instance—I mean, I am not saying that's the label people would apply to me. But if you see yourself that way, inevitably you get to a point when you are no longer a sex symbol. And if you can't move past that, you're putting a limit on yourself; you're arresting your development. And that's where I think a lot of women get in trouble.”
“I'm not 25 years old anymore, nor do I want to be. I wouldn't even want to go back to being 30. You know what I mean? That journey—I've done it already. I don't want to do it again.”
One recent rough patch in her life was the sudden passing of her father Emilio at 58 from pneumonia. "I think,emotionally.…it definitely took its toll. Definitely." Diaz said about continuing filming after his death. "It's the human experience. You know, that's what the heart does. Things are given to us, and things are taken away. And I think the heart becomes stronger, more capable."

Style conscious gals went handsomely chic this weekend in black slacks, be it at the airport or on the red carpet -- Beyonce, Cameron Diaz, and Katie Holmes were all fashioned out in the lean look of the black pant. Sarah Jessica Parker opted for her usual flounce dress with a flower (we're over it), Sharon Stone went for an Hervé Léger by Max Azria curve-clinging dress, and Jaime King went tacky at Tao for her 30th! There were some absolutely fab and other dreadfully drab looks that hit our Style Radar.
