We're not gonna evaluate the respective political performances of US President Barack Obama or French President Nicolas Sarkozy here, but we can say their better halves have great tastes in the wardrobe department.
First Lady Michelle Obama met up with French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy at the D-Day landing memorial ceremony in France this weekend. We're not sure who sent the memo, but both stylicious political mademoiselles matched to a tee in white belted dresses and kitten heels.
Carla (whose nude photo drew $19,600 at a Berlin auction house last week) wore a simple cap-sleeve structured Christian Dior frock, accessorizing it with a thin black belt and black kitten heels.
Michelle Obama didn't disappoint, going very Jackie O like in a Narciso Rodriguez white dress ensemble, adding her personal flare with a thick metallic belt and kitten heels.

If Susan Boyle truly wants to conquer America, she's starting in the right place.
While she may not have won Britain's Got Talent, the 48-year-old Scottish spinster-turned-YouTube sensation is slated has been invited to perform for President Barack Obama July 4, her older brother John told UK's The Daily Record.

In a city glittering with tinsel, one star will undoubtedly shine the others Wednesday night: President Barack Obama.
The Commander-in-Chief will headline a $30,400-a-couple-dinner to be held at the Beverly Hilton, which will also feature performances from Oscar/Grammy-winning star Jennifer Hudson and R&B icons Earth, Wind And Fire. Hollywood powerhouses including Steven Spielberg, Jeffrey Katzenberg and David Geffen will also attend the dinner, which aims to raise funds for the Democratic party.

Oprah Winfrey’s $50 million mansion is threatened by the fires currently burning in Santa Barbara and is being evacuated as of Friday afternoon according to UsMagazine.com.
Oprah’s home in the tony California town of Montecito has been the site of many of her exclusive parties, including a star studded fundraiser for President Barack Obama in September 2007. The media mogul lives in Chicago but frequently travels to the 42-acre private estate.
Update: Obama Apologizes For Special Olympics Joke

President Obama is apologizing for a flippant joke aimed at the Special Olympics during his appearance on The Tonight Show on Thursday.
The President, discussing his mediocre bowling skills with host Jay Leno, said he was disappointed with his latest score of 129.
"It was like the Special Olympics or something," the President said.
On his way back to Washington on Air Force One, Obama called the chairman of the Special Olympics, Tim Shriver, to say he was sorry, even before the taped program aired late Thursday night.
"He expressed his disappointed and he apologized in a way that was very moving. He expressed that he did not intend to humiliate this population," Shriver said Friday on ABC's Good Morning America. Obama, Shriver said, wants to have some Special Olympic athletes visit the White House to bowl or play basketball.
Still, Shriver said, "I think it's important to see that words hurt and words do matter. And these words that in some respect can be seen as humiliating or a put down to people with special needs do cause pain and they do result in stereotypes."
