Monday night's "it" styles can be characterized in three words: short, cropped, and rocker-hot!
From stars sporting fabulously accessorized mini-dresses at the The Proposal premiere to rocking styles at Activision's DJ-Hero launch event, celebs rang in the new month with some fierce fashions!
Sandra Bullock paired a collection of chunky necklaces to amp up her off-the-shoulder asymmetrical Alexander McQueen number and Malin Akerman made a shoe statement in a pair of electric, eccentric and embellished Prada pumps, at the The Proposal premiere.
Taraji P. Henson -- always on our style radar for her trend-setting ways -- turned out in leather and lace for the Eminem/ Jay Z performance at the debut of DJ-Hero, while Kim Kardashian was no slough, keeping up with the white-hot Balmain trend in a zebra studded blazer and torn-up denim.
The usually-conservative Anne Hathaway showed up to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in a curve-clinging Herve Leger number in NYC. Across Gotham, the classically fab Kate Winslet took a demure style approach, in a Stella McCartney frock with sheer sleeves to support her Oscar-winning director hubby, Sam Mendes, at the premiere of his film, Away We Go.
In Harajuku, Japan, Black Eyed Peas diva Fergie juggled style eras in a fun retro romper!

It’s a HUGE night on MTV, and not just because we say farewell to Lauren Conrad, hello to Kristin Cavallari and ‘don’t do it!’ to Heidi Montag on the season finale of The Hills!
The real reason for all the excitement is actually because it’s time for the much anticipated... MTV Movie Awards! Yay! And there’s just so much to see tonight, starting with an awesome and outrageous digital short by host, Andy Samberg, featuring Will Ferrell and J.J. Abrams. We get performances by our long lost Eminem, who will perform music from his new album Relapse, and Kings of Leon will perform live on MTV for the first time ever, treating us to their hit song Use Somebody! Then, of course we have the presenters. Let me just drop a few names on ya… James T. Kirk hottie, Chris Pine, Sacha Baron Cohen (as Brüno), head butting-bad boy (both on and off screen) Kiefer Sutherland, as well as LeAnn Rimes, Megan Fox, Shia LaBeouf, Zac Efron, Denzel Washington, Cameron Diaz, Ryan Reynolds, Will Ferrell, Sandra Bullock, Vanessa Hudgens, Leighton Meester, Jonah Hill, Lil Wayne, Sienna Miller, Channing Tatum, Bradley Cooper, Abigail Breslin and Danny McBride, just to name a few! BUT WAIT THERE’S MORE! We also get to see the world premiere trailer and exclusive clips from 3 of the most anticipated movies of the year, Twilight’s sequel, New Moon, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen! Woo hoo!
