Adam Lambert Repeat Offender: Recycles Idol Outfits!

Random Things

Adam Lambert, a world famous runner-up, turned out for the Young Hollywood Awards Sunday evening. While he didn't take top prize on Idol, he did nab a trophy for Artist of The Year!

His outfit, however--we're putting it in the bottom three!

Glambert, as usual, attempted a statement in a custom-made jacket and skin-tight black and gray striped pants (from Melrose Avenue boutique Congregation of the Forgotten Saints). The almost-Idol told bystanders that AI hooked him up with an outfit for his special night. RadarOnline.com, however,  tracked down his duds and caught the outrageous artist in a not-so-original ensemble!

He's worn this before! On the show!

The too-tight-for-tv pants graced Lambert during a duet with Allison Iraheta, and the standout blazer for an Idol results show! The "new" Elvis-esque hairdo ain't original either, folks!

Is Lambert's fashion sense simply a product of Idol- prolly not, the wacky styled guy was in dresses and platforms way  before he became a singing sensation.

FYI- He wore those clothes in front of millions of viewers! To think we wouldn't notice!

First Ladies Of Fashion: Classy & Matchy!

Random Things

We're not gonna evaluate the respective political performances of US President Barack Obama or French President Nicolas Sarkozy here, but we can say their better halves have great tastes in the wardrobe department.

First Lady Michelle Obama met up with French First Lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy at the D-Day landing memorial ceremony in France this weekend. We're not sure who sent the memo, but both stylicious political mademoiselles matched to a tee in white belted dresses and kitten heels.

Carla (whose nude photo drew $19,600 at a Berlin auction house last week) wore a simple cap-sleeve structured Christian Dior frock, accessorizing it with a thin black belt and black kitten heels.

Michelle Obama didn't disappoint, going very Jackie O like in a Narciso Rodriguez white dress ensemble, adding her personal flare with a thick metallic belt and kitten heels.

Two fashionable First Ladies in white -- designer whites, that is!

MTV Movie Awards Red Carpet: Fab & Flop Fashions!

Posted on Jun 01, 2009 @ 08:59AM - Add a comment
Random Things

At the MTV Movie Awards, style was front and center with an emphasis not on glamour, but rather on individuality and fashion forwardness. Compared to past years, the red carpet starlets stepped up their style in mini-dresses and cocktail numbers -- sans for LeAnn Rimes, who showed up inappropriately in a full-length gown.

Sienna Miller was the style stunner of the evening in an emerald green Swarovski-encrusted Twenty8Twelve strong shouldered long sleeve mini-dress. Leighton Meester made up for her many red carpet faux pas in an edgy cut-out Emilio De La Morena fab, curve-clinging number.

Taraji P. Henson, always a red carpet winner, made a statement in a black and white strapless Roberto Cavalli bustier mini-dress. Lauren Conrad went dark and playful in Moschino, and Megan Fox in a super-short brocade Dolce & Gabbana strapless cocktail dress proved that her beauty transcends even the worst hair tragedy.

When individual style comes into play, so do tragic looks-- and there were plenty to go around Sunday.

Rumer Willis was a red carpet eyesore in a geometric, patchwork, single-shoulder dress. Miranda Cosgrove was a disappointing sequin disaster in an ill-fitting, multi-color number. LeAnn Rimes dressed for the wrong event, in a trashbag-like J. Mendel gown. Lacking fashion congeniality, Sandra Bullock sported tights in May and Twilight's Kristen Stewart, in an Yigal Azrouel dress paired with Chuck Taylors, may just be the next Avril Lavigne - a complicated, style mess.

MTV Stylist Weighs in on Awards Fashion & Red Carpet Must-Sees!

Random Things

At the MTV Movie Awards, the show is silly but the fashions are fierce.

As opposed to a traditional awards show like the Academy Awards, where glam gowns are expected, the MTV Movie Awards showcase personal style--from the outrageous to avant-garde.

RadarOnline.com caught up with fashion plate and MTV Stylist Alison Lang, where we pressed her  for red carpet predictions.

"You can expect to see a lot of black and white and grey. There are also going to be a lot of sporty looks with bright infused colors. A lot of electric colors, kind of 80s throwbacks," Lang said.

Think Melrose chic, folks!

According to the stylist, the stars will amp up, er, step up their style in the shoe department, as well.

"Casual looks that will be dressed up with super high heels or outrageous sneakers - basically TLC from back in the day, revamped and revised."

Lang predicts that Katy Perry will have "crazy" style, telling us, "overall, [Katy], is the one that people we are going to be looking at.  Whether she is
dressed right or wrong she is going to make a statement.  She is the little young Gwen Stefani."

The look is going to be "young, fun, and playful!" Rock out!

Style Radar: Faboo or Faux Pas? Style Game On!

Style Radar Gallery: 5/28/09

Coast-to-coast cosmopolitan fashion took center stage Wednesday, from the Laker playoff game in L.A to the Fifi awards in the Big Apple.

High style was the name of the game with Kim K. hitting a fashion three-pointer in sky-high Louboutin booties to cheer on the Lakers (presumably her second favorite team behind her honey's Saints). Academy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson didn't disappoint style-wise either, the Bejamin Button beauty enjoyed the Lake Show with a metallic Louis Vuitton tote in hand.

At the Fifi Awards in NYC, not only did Paris Hilton win the "Female Celebrity Fragrance of the Year" award, but she won the battle of the red carpet, sparkling in an effervescent fuchsia Georges Chakra Couture gown. Queen Latifah, also clad in Georges Chakra, hit up two NYC events in a charcoal-metallic, single-shoulder, gown worthy of her hip-hop majesty.

Grey's Anatomy doc Kate Walsh was also in New York, and proved that while metallics are trendy, pink lurex flatlined alongside it.

These looks and many more hit our Style Radar.

Happy Burberry Day To NYC

Random Things

New York City is the quintessential style savvy city - and the Mayor has declared today (Thursday 28 May) "Burberry Day" in the fashion capital. How fab!

The proclamation coincides with the official lighting of the new Burberry sign  that will be featured across the iconic Manhattan skyline (on top of the newest Burberry America Headquarters) at 444 Madison Avenue.

The new sign is 50 feet long , 5 feet high, and will be appearing on 3 sides of the building at 400 feet over the city.  That is a whole lot of designer signage!

Bloomberg says, “By placing its new headquarters for the Americas in midtown Manhattan and opening new stores here, Burberry is investing in the future of New York City, a worldwide hub for retail and fashion. Through its donation to the Robin Hood Foundation and the new Burberry billboard, one of the world’s great fashion houses is becoming more at home in the world’s greatest city.”

Over 300 guests are expected to attend a Burberry sign lighting party at the Palace hotel in New York tonight - including Orlando Bloom, Chloe Sevigny, Penn Badgley, Molly Sims, Justin Long, and many more!

Style may not save lives, but a few shopping sprees here and there can only help bolster this horrible economy. Buy your Burberry plaids today!

Harem Pants: A Trendy, Yet Tricky Style

Harem Pants: Trendy Yet Tricky Style

Harem pants are an unusual trend that the eccentric celebrity can pull off at times, but continually -- and surprisingly -- the pant resurfaces on runways and in designer ads alike.

The baggy, and often saggy, look is not for everyone -- it is very rarely flattering to even the most toned and taut of derrieres.

Whether cropped or full length, gold shimmer or plain black, pulling off the perfect harem pant is a very difficult task.

Actress Angie Harmon pulled it off however, nailing the look in a Ralph Lauren set. She did not win any points for originality, however, as she blatantly copied the look, head-to-toe, from the designer's Spring 09 runway show.

Rockin' fashionista Fergie of the 'Black Eyed Peas' pumped it in a gold-cropped version of the high-risk style statement in London this weekend. Sexy Diane Kruger attended a Chanel Dinner, dressing up in a white pair for the Tribeca Film Festival last month.

Jennifer Hudson has an Oscar and a Grammy, but that doesn't make her the second coming of Barbara Eden. The considerably talented performer
sported some harem pants on the Today Show earlier this month and proved that, even in black, the hip pant is not for everyone.

Heck, even designer Rachel Roy, a master of her fashionable craft, missed the style mark in a pair looking Susan Boyle-frumpy.

If you get the harem pant look just right -- you're in luck! Otherwise, is it better to be fashionably safe than sorry? Your choice, folks!

How to Tan like a Celeb

Posted on May 26, 2009 @ 01:48PM - Add a comment
Random Things

Everyone wants the perfect tan but tanning in the sun is sooo last decade, not to mention dangerous. We asked our make-up and tanning expert, Heather Kwasnieski at Luminess, how the celebs get those perfect tans.  In a word, “Air-brush.”

Advantages:
“Since you’re not using a cream, you’re not going to get the streaks you get with the cream. The tanning solution is pixilated and is basically airbrushed onto the skin. A very smooth finish—no streaks, no dripping. And the DHA [active ingredient] in our tanning solution is up to 700 times more powerful than a lot of the creams and tanning solutions out there.

The designer of the moment Balmain has quickly become a celeb international fave with a presence on red carpets from New York to Cannes! The only issue
-- stars attempting a fashion WOW with the unique styles are running near repeats of the fab frocks.

Last month Beyonce Knowles hit the red carpet for the Obsession premiere working a black sequin dress with a mini front and ultra-long train at the back.  Wednesday in Cannes, Sharon Stone went for a dramatic entrance turning out a similar black mini with the same long train by the choice designer.
